building work is required and it allows for continued use of existing facilities, so windows, radiators, plug sockets and lights can be used normally to create a pleasant and cosy environment.

Safespaces are made with industrial strength PVC walls, which are positioned at least 10"/25cm away from your room walls. This PVC pulled taut on a steel frame, flexes outwards to absorb impacts. The flexible walls and 3"/8cm thick soft padded floor reduce the rik of the person inside being able to harm themselves on walls, floors and other hard surfaces. The Safespace is custom made to fit your existing room, the zip out doors and windows are custom designed to align with those already present. The clear PVE windows and a net roof give each Safespace a sense of openess and freedom.

What and Who are they for?
Safespaces are used in situations where a person may not be safe in an ordinary room. This may be due to behavioural difficulties such as you may find in individuals with Autism, or to other special needs such as epilepsy or Cerebral Palsy. Safespaces are also being use to help manage those with challenging or destructive behaviour and those that self harm. The Safespace helps to reduce transmitted noise as the person inside is unable to bang against the room walls, whilst for the safety the net roof still allows them to still be heard. This can vastly reduce the disturbance to other household members and neighbours. Other reported benefits have included a calming influence on those with autism and better sleep patterns (for parents and carers too.)
Safespaces are being used in homes, respite centres and schools for people who need high levels of supervision. They are often used to creat a low sensory environment for sleep or "chilling out" and they are used to create stimulating sensory rooms. Any Safespace can be multi purpose with the addition of viewing panels and blinds.

Safespace Cosyfit

Safespace Cosyfit
The Cosyfit can be used as a sleeping or safe area for those with limited mobility. It has a fully padded interior, high sides and includes a mattress base.
As a sleep system it is designed for those who may be unsafe in a divan, metal or wood bed. As a safe area, it can facilitate safe play and relaxation for those who require a soft enclosure for their own safety.
The Cosyfit sides can be made up to 1.5m/58" high and the maximum mattress size is 1.8m/6' x 1.8m/6'. It has a fully opening front side for easy access which has a large PVC window. The Cosyfit can be quickly and easily dismantled for 'flat pack' storage.

Cosyfits are designed for use only by those who cannot climb. They are used at homes, schools and respite centres as an attractive and economical alternative to other padding options. They have been found to be particularly useful for those who would otherwise have to be strapped into chairs or frames for their own safety.

Each Cosyfit is custom made to suit its location and the needs of the people using it. However most Cosyfits are ordered in bed equivalent sizes. The maximum height is 1.47/58". The floor mat/mattress thickness is 6". Tiny Cosy's are available and platforms are also available for use with the Cosyfits to enable use of most floor hoists.

safespace Voyager

Safespace Voyager

"The Safespace is great and Connor absolutely loves it. I can't tell you what a huge difference it has made to the whole family. Connors behaviour has improved dramatically because he is actually sleeping for about 8-10 hours now. Before we had the Safespace we were lucky if he slept for more than four hours a night. As I'm sure you will understand, this was haveing a major effect on the whole family as well as Connor and we were really struggling to cope. The Safespace has made a tremendous difference to all our lives but especially Connor's who is a lot calmer, contented and happier. Thank you so much." -Letter sent to Safespaces from a parent.
